Jim hales from a rural agricultural region in the Catskills of NY called Mosquito Point. After graduating from Grand Gorge Central School he went on to get a degree in Data Processing from SUNY Cobleskill. After graduation he worked in the Information Technology field of education and banking for a brief period time and went on to work in medical and hospital IT for over thirty years. As time passed in Jim’s life he started attending and enjoying more and more auctions. Twenty some years ago he was “volunteered” to be the auctioneer for a small sale for a club to which he belonged. As the years went on, Jim found himself volunteering to be the auctioneer for more club and organizational fund raising auctions. He found that being an auctioneer was actually quite enjoyable. Through his membership in one such organization, he was able to glean further knowledge of the auction business by helping with behind the scenes activities for one of the largest annual auctions on the East Coast. Jim’s interest in the business lead him to seek out formal training and evolved to a point where in January of 2006 he created Huggans Auction Service. Since it’s conception Huggans Auction Service has handled estates, business liquidations, antiques, collectables, farm equipment, vehicles, tools, as well as conducting annual consignment sales. As the old saying in the auction business goes … “If you haven’t sold it yet … sooner or later you will be asked to.” Jim has brought Huggans Auction Service to a point where it is fully equipped and staffed to handle your needs. Recently Jim joined Land of Lakes Reality as a Licensed Salesperson and can now handle your real estate needs as well as selling your personal items.
