Uncle Herman Eisenberg sent out 5,000 postcards every Saturday to clothing store owners offering to buy their close-outs. Next Generation, Irving Goldstein, started in business by placing 50 gumball machines in strategic locations in Newark and surrounding area in the 40's and 50's. He bought from Auctions and also helped his friend, Henry Hirschel, run a very successful auction in Neptune called Uncle Henry's Auction in the 50's, 60's and 70's. It was Irv who negotiated one of the first deals with Supermarket chains to buy truckloads of their dented cans (precursor to $1 Stores). We're proud to carry the family torch.
